I can’t argue against the points in this article, but I do feel it’s appropriate to caution people to not rely on any one source regarding brain technology. While there would indeed be ethical issues regarding stimulating the pleasure center, there are also emerging technologies that:

a) Don’t require implantation

b) Don’t stimulate the pleasure centers, so presumably would not face the same addiction issues.

c) that newer research is coming out almost daily, so it’s hard to keep up, but that there are ongoing clinical trials of various non-intrusive brain stim. techniques that sound at least promising.
