I’m with you on this. And applying the same thinking to social media. If one’s goal is just to communicate with others, that’s fine but it isn’t a business. If one wants a business based on online blogs and social, then one needs to stop thinking about vanity metrics, and start thinking about business outcomes.

I see huge numbers of people unable to turn their followers and audiences into business results.
