I still “think” (I’m open to both sides) that UBI is a viable solution that should be of interest to both on the right and left, because I see it as a means to cut the size of governments down, by dismantling all the other social programs in place now.
Since government programs tend to be expensive on the administrative side, the saving from ridding ourselves of them could result in at least partial funding of UBI.
One issue UBI can’t handle on its own is housing, and I have no idea how one goes about attacking the high costs of shelter in most major cities in the world.
